There are many cleansers available online and offline, many are expensive and promise an end to your acne. But do they really work, or are they REALLY just a rip off? I used to have acne for many years and tried lots of different treatments. This included many cleansers…When I first got acne my doctor prescribed benzoyl peroxide. This dried my skin out and did little to clear my pimples. Next I tried about half a dozen over-the-counter cleansers, most of which contained salicylic acid (for example Clearasil.) Unfortunately my acne was quite severe and didn’t respond to these fairly cheap cleansers. So I looked online for some more specialist acne cleansers, and found plenty! But these were often very expensive and apparently took a few months to work. I actually tried some of these, like proactive and murad, but without success…My advice is to avoid expensive cleansers and go for the root cause of acne – food. Some food causes acne and needs to be avoided for clear skin. For example, when I cut out vegetable oil (found in some junk food and sauces), my acne cleared up DRAMATICALLY in just a few days. I recommend you do the same. There are other foods to avoid, and some foods you should incorporate into your diet as well. All of this is very simple and is free compared to buying expensive cleansers and other topical applications that probably won’t work anyway. For more information about clearing your acne visit my website below.

There are many secrets to clear skin that the greedy acne industry doesn’t want you, the poor acne sufferer, to find out about. Simple ways to clear skin that don’t cost a fortune and can be done at home for free. Find out here…I used to suffer from acne for many years and found out about a secret way to clear my skin. This has nothing to do with antibiotics, accutane, fasting on apples for 3 days, expensive cleansers or any new age healing techniques…But what I found is that acne is basically a hormonal condition that can be controlled by what you eat. Some foods imbalance your hormones, leading to acne, whilst others balance hormones, preventing breakouts. Avoid some foods, and eat others and you will be acne free! Here’s more:The food that causes the worst acne is vegetable oil. This disrupts hormonal balance so much that it leads to cystic acne breakouts in hours. The problem is that most people don’t realize that they eat vegetable oil everyday. It’s often used as a cooking oil, is found in some junk foods and is also found in some sauces like pesto.Once you find and eliminate the source of vegetable oil in your diet you will see a dramatic and sudden improvement in your skin. When I cut out vegetable oil from my diet my acne cleared up significantly, although there was still other things I needed to do. For more information about clearing your acne visit my website below.

Learning To Choose The Appropriate Acne Treatment
People are fully aware that there are plenty of acne treatments that can be used in case they develop this skin problem; everyone will have an idea about a particular treatment that is likely to work wonders and magical remedies are all over the place. But they should realize that they must know the direct source for all their information; they have to know whether a particular source is reliable or not because you should not play with a health condition even when it comes to simple acne. If you have decided to get rid of acne, you have to make sure that you will undergo the proper treatment that fits your problem and skin type in order not to worsen the already installed acne. There are three types of acne that are likely to be encountered, namely the moderate, mild and severe one. Every type of acne is likely to come along with its own management because these types are likely to vary a great deal. Acne is to be regarded as a real health problem; therefore, you should consider this matter in a serious manner because acne has to be treated as being a severe condition.Regardless of your acne type, you will have to pay a visit to your dermatologist in order to prescribe you the necessary acne treatment. The skin expert will take a close look to your skin problem in order to determine the appropriate treatment that is likely to work in your case; for instance, if you have developed a milder form of acne, you will be advised to wash the zone in a gentle manner without scratching it. Soap and warm water are to be used in order to clean the affected area and the skin expert may also advise you to introduce some pharmaceutical elements in order to take care of your acne for good. The proper skin care is to be regarded as a very important issue because you can prevent your acne condition from becoming more severe; you will also have to fully understand that improvements are likely to take their time and you should not rush into believing that the treatment has not the desired effects. On the contrary, every major change is not likely to happen overnight and you will have to be patient with your acne treatment and the way you use it on a daily basis. The topical solutions are not likely to work miracles overnight either; gradual but steady movement and change are to be expected when using these topical solutions and you will be able to notice the improvements in time. Even some vitamins are likely to be recommended in order to improve the condition and appearance of your skin; but you have to remember that acne may actually affect almost every part of your body regardless of its location. Therefore, you should not be surprised when discovering pimples on your legs or arms. But you should not worry because acne can be treated if you take your time and ask for some professional advice. If you decide to get rid of acne, you will have to be prepared in order to follow all the instructions that come from the skin expert and you should not treat your acne by yourself. On the contrary, professional assistance is always to be searched for in order to make sure that you will get rid of acne for good without any scars. For instance, if your face is half covered with pimples or blackheads, you may be sure that you are suffering from a moderate form of acne; therefore, a dermatologist is to be consulted in order to provide yourself with the appropriate acne treatment. You will have to handle the situation without worrying too much because this skin condition can also be treated in a successful manner. Even if acne can be a direct source of depression for the people who are suffering from this condition, every doctor will emphasize that fact that acne is treatable. The moderate acne will require a more complex treatment and this treatment may come along with combined therapies in order to make sure that the skin condition ill be cured. The skin specialist may also prescribe an oral treatment for the acne; for instance, the oral contraceptives may be the appropriate treatment in case that you are suffering from moderate acne but you have to be fully aware that the acne scars may also become serious if you do not take care of your skin problem. The moderate stage of the acne is to be treated in a serious manner in order not to result into more severe forms of acne. Therefore, you have to treat your acne, regardless of its type, as soon as you can in order to avoid the ugly acne scars. If you are suffering from severe acne, your symptoms will be quite evident and you will know that treatment is highly required in order for the situation not to become worse. You have to avoid feeling depressed or sad about this skin condition because you must take action and not complain. Acne treatment is to be used before your acne reaches more severe levels that can be harder to cure regardless of the chosen treatment.

Overview of Acne
ACNE Greasy skin with blackheads, pus-filled spots and red lumps – these are some of the characteristics of acne, also commonly known as pimples. Acne is a common skin disorder that affects over 100 million people worldwide. It occurs when pores of the skin become clogged with naturally occurring body oil called ’sebum’, dead skin cells and bacteria.” Acne is not curable but can be prevent with proper acne treatment. Acne can develop at any age; it usually begins at puberty and worsens during adolescence. Nearly 85% of the people develop it between the ages of 12 -25 years of age. Acne is so common that it’s considered a normal part of growing from a kid to an adult. But knowing that doesn’t make it easier when you look in the mirror and see a big pimple on your chin! The good news is that learning about acne and getting the right acne treatment can help you feel better about your face.WHAT IS ACNE?Acne is a skin condition that shows up as different types of bumps. They include whiteheads, blackheads, red bumps (pimples), and bumps that are filled with pus (cysts). What causes these annoying bumps? Well, your skin is covered with tiny holes called hair follicles, or pores. Pores contain sebaceous (say: suh-bay-shus) glands (also called oil glands) that make sebum (say: see-bum), an oil that moistens your hair and skin. Most of the time the glands make the right amount of sebum, and the pores are fine. But sometimes a pore gets clogged up with too much sebum, dead skin cells, and germs called bacteria. This can cause acne. If a pore gets clogged up, closes, and bulges out from the skin, that’s a whitehead. If a pore clogs up but stays open, the top surface can get dark and you’re left with a blackhead. Sometimes the walls of the pore are broken, allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to get under the skin. This causes a small, red infection called a pimple. Clogged-up pores that open up deep in the skin can lead to bigger infections known as cysts.WHAT CAUSES ACNE?• Male hormones A lot of kids and teens get a type of acne called acne vulgaris. It usually appears on the face, neck, shoulders, upper back, and chest. Teens and kids get acne because of the hormone changes that come with puberty. As you grow up and your body begins to develop, these hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to make more sebum, and the glands can become overactive. When there is too much sebum, that oil clogs the pores and leads to acne.• Menstruation Many women have acne in a mild form just prior to their monthly periods. When the oestrogen levels are low.• Steroids People who take steroids may get acne spots• Skin bacteriaAfter puberty, the skin on the face and upper trunk, with or without acne, contain bacteria. The most important bacteria in acne are called propiomibacterium acnes. They get into the duct of the grease glands where they make chemicals that eventually escape into the deeper parts of the skin and cause more inflammation. This does not mean that acne is infective; it is not. Sometimes acne persists into the late teens, twenties and rarely into the thirties. It is no joke if it does as acne treatment for adults is more difficult.OVER THE COUNTER ACNE TREATMENT Many lotions and creams are sold at drugstores to help treat acne. You can try different ones to see which helps. Products with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them are usually pretty helpful for treating acne. Benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that can lead to acne and it also can reduce swelling (puffiness) of pimples. Salicylic acid is another acne-fighting ingredient. It causes skin to dry out and peel, which can help get rid of pimples, too. When you use a product for acne, be sure to follow the directions exactly. Don’t use more than you’re supposed to because it can make your skin very red and very dry. It’s also good to try just a little bit at first to be sure that you’re not allergic to the product. Don’t give up if you don’t see results the next day. Acne treatment medicine can take weeks or months to work. For more information about acne and acne treatment, please visit http://www.acnetreatmentroom.com

Surgical drainage And extraction, Chemical peeling, Microdermabrasion, Light and laser therapy are some of the physical and surgical procedures used to treat acne. These procedures are used in following circumstances-1. Acne is highly inflamed and infected. In this case extraction is performed to remove the liquid mass inside.2. Acne does not respond to topical and oral medications.3. Acne on the back where it is difficult to apply medicine. The common procedures are as follows-Surgical Drainage And Extraction-In this procedure the cyst is cut and drained. This not only reduces the pain due to the cyst but also cures it faster. This procedure is performed on acne that is filled with sebum, pus, dead skin cells and body fluids. Whiteheads and blackheads are also extracted surgically. This extraction needs skill otherwise the pores may become large. If sterile tools are not used, the extraction may cause infection. If you extract comedone yourself, be gentle and remove them with sterile tools.Physical Procedures-Chemical peeling, Microdermabrasion, light and laser therapy are physical procedures used to treat acne.1. Chemical Peeling is used to treat acne in the beginning stages. Chemicals are used to peel away the skin. Normally the peel is done with a mild solution of Glycolic acid. Glycolic Acid breaks the bond between the dead skin cells and fresh skin and removes the top layer of dead skin cells. This reduces whiteheads and blackheads.2. In Microdermabrasion, very tiny particles are bombarded on the skin at high speed to remove the dead layer of skin cells and loosen the whiteheads and blackheads. This procedure is not be used on inflamed acne.3. Blue light is commonly used to treat acne. It kills the bacteria P.acnes and reduces inflammation. Green-yellow light and heat energy are used in combination to kill the bacteria and shrink the sebaceous glands.4. Different types of lasers are now used to treat acne. Laser is not a popular therapy for acne as yet and is still under testing. This article is only for informative purposes.

Acne Skin Care Control
Acne is a common skin condition. It occurs when oil and dead skin cells clog the skin’s pores. Mostly it affects that areas where the largest oil glands founds in the human body, including the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin, back, and trunk. It is also known as pimple. Mostly it occurs on women as well as infant body. It is most common in adolescents and it generally disappears by age 30.The appearance of pimples sometimes occurs during the surge of hormones during the puberty. In some youngsters they continue to bother them into their young adulthood or even till their late forties and in others they disappear after a few years. There are no parameters that are available that will indicate when these lesions are likely to disappear.CausesBy the research it is found that 80 percent of all teenagers develop acne, but is also occurs at the age of 25 and 30. Acne occurs when the hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. During puberty, there are numbers of hormonal changes in the body and due to this an increased production of sex hormones like estrogen, and androgens. Androgens stimulate the production of oil in the sebaceous glands, which tends to block the skin pores thus the harmless skin bacteria present on the skin gets entrapped in the deeper layers of the skin.Stresses can also a big cause of acne. Intense stress that requires medical assistance is sometimes treated with medications which may cause acne as a side effect. If you think you may have acne in account to a medication prescribed for either stress or depression, then you should talk with doctors.SymptomsWhen the follicle begins to bulge and show up as a small whitish bump mostly under the skin, it is called a whitehead. If the comedo opens up, the top surface of the plug darkens, and it is referred to as a blackhead. When acne is present, sebum which normally drains to the surface of the skin gets blocked and bacteria begins to grow.TreatmentTreatment for acne depends on severity. Mild cases may be eased by washing the face with a gental toilet soap. You can already use drying agents such as benzoyl peroxide. However, over washing your face could lead to excess drying and the production of more pore-clogging oil, which in turn could cause more acne.If you feel that your acne is not possible to be end then you should use prescription medicine and topical creams that can clear up mild to very severe acne. Severe acne may need oral treatment with antibiotics such as tetracycline or hormone therapy. However, over washing your face could lead to excess drying and the production of more pore-clogging oil, which in turn could cause more acne. If you have a case of acne that requires more treatment than face washing alone, there are many prescription medications and topical creams that can clear up mild to very severe acne.

What Is Acne?
Certainly, most of us know what acne is, simply
because we have had to experience it at one time or another
in our lives. But, in case a definition is needed, here is a short
one. Acne is a dermatological term that includes clogged
pores, pimples and lumps or cysts that occur on the face,
neck, chest, back, shoulders, and upper arms. Acne occurs
most commonly in teenagers, but is not limited to any age
group, afflicting even adults in their forties. This disease has
many varieties, and although none are life threatening, the
more severe cases of acne can be disfiguring, leaving
permanent scars on effected areas. The physical changes in body tissue – or lesions – which acne
causes are described in five ways: comedos, papule, pustule,
nodule and cyst. Further, these terms denote range or
severity with comedo (also known as blackheads and
whiteheads) at one end and nodules or cysts at the other.
As stated above, acne is most common among teenagers,
affecting teens between the ages 12 and 17. Usually, these
mild cases are cleared up with over-the-counter treatments
and the acne goes away by the early twenties. It also should
be noted that although acne affects both girls and boys
equally, there are some distinctions. Young men are more
likely to have severe, long-term acne while women can have
reoccurring or intermittent acne well into adulthood due to
hormonal changes and cosmetics. Now that we have summarized just what acne is, we can
move on to the subject of this book. A guide to acne: what
types are there, how to treat it, and current myths circulating
about it. The hope is that the reader will come away having
gained a clearer understanding of acne in its various forms,
and how it can be combated against and to reduce its impact
upon the lives of those suffering from it. This is by no means
an exhaustive guide on the subject nor is it a clinical journal,
but is at the very least, an introduction and a source upon
which to do further study into the causes and cures of acne in
all its forms.Check out the links below to learn much more about acne and health and beauty in general.

Want To Know The Best Form Of Acne Treatment? Let’s Get Rid Of Acne Shall We?
If you have ever had a zit you have probably wondered what the best for of acne treatment is. With acne affecting millions of people it’s no surprise there are hundreds of different products to choose from. Sadly, many of them aren’t worth a dime – let’s cut to the chase and fill you in on what you need to look for.First, it’s important that you understand why most of the products you find in the stores don’t work. It’s simple really – they don’t treat acne at the root of the problem. If you aren’t treating the causes, how are you going to see those pimples go away? Most treatments just try to fight one pimple at a time. They don’t address any of the causes, they just try to “fry” zits as they come. That’s just not good enough. If you have acne, I’m sure you want to get rid of it for good. It’s a great feeling being able to look in the mirror each day and see clear skin. It’s not hard to meet this goal if you understand what to look for. Let’s look at what you need to find the best form of acne treatment. You need to make sure you are treating all of the possible causes linked to pimples. Let’s look at what causes acne:1) Excess oil on the skin – When your skin glands produce too much oil, this extra oil clogs up your pores and leads to breakouts. You need a treatment that not only eliminate the excess oil, but also unclogs your pores and controls future oils production.2) Acne-Causing Bacteria – There are specific types of bacteria that are linked to acne. This stuff can build up on your skin throughout the day – you absolutely must use a treatment that kills off this bacteria before it causes any damage.3) Inflammation of the Skin – This a huge cause of acne that is almost always left untreated. If your skin is trying to fight off inflammation, it doesn’t have the power to also defend itself from new zits. And when you have inflammation of the skin your acne is going to look a lot worse. The big, bright red zits you see are a result of this. Many people don’t even know they have inflammation because you can’t always see it. It can happen “under” the skin. But it is critical that you treat inflammation and keep your skin cells at their healthiest in order to make sure you get rid of acne.Hardly any of the acne products out there actually treat all of the above causes. And you guessed it – if they don’t treat all of them, they aren’t going to work. You can see a list of acne treatments that have been proven to treat acne at the core of the problem by going to http://www.fastacnetreatments.com. They just released their reviews for 2008 so go take a look.I promise you that the best form of acne treatment will give you the clear skin you want. By making sure you are attacking your acne from all angles and treating all the causes, you will have clear skin in no time. All the best!

One of the many questions I get lately is: “Should I be afraid of an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide.” Good question! This product has been used for decades and is available over the counter. So, inquiring minds want to know!Ok. Let’s talk a little bit about benzoyl peroxide. It’s a great product so lets check it out. Benzoyl peroxide, Resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulfur are all FDA approved over the counter active ingredients designed particularly to fight your acne. They all work quite well. Benzoyl peroxide should be generally thought of as an antibiotic of sorts which is topically applied as an acne treatment. It is rated just below the number one treatment, oral tetracycline in it’s effectiveness. The “benzoyl” part acts like a propellant for the “peroxide” to get deep into the follicle where it releases oxygen that effectively kills the Anaerobic Acne P. bacteria. This is the bacteria that is specifically responsible for causing all the pain and suffering you experience from acne lesions. Anaerobic just means that the Acne P. bacteria cannot survive in an environment that is rich in oxygen. Oxygen is what we what then!Keep in mind that since your body provides the living quarters and food for the bacteria to survive, you can pick a treatment designed to follow suit. There are products such as Retin-A, azelaic acid or glycolic acid (consult your physician on these) that will actually help clear the follicle and prevent unsuitable living quarters. A product such as benzoyl peroxide actually kills off the bacteria thereby keeping the them in check or even eliminating the breakouts altogether. If you are using the topical antibacterial method in fighting your acne you must remain diligent. Missing even a day or two can result in a whole new onslaught of acne by allowing the bacteria to regroup. You don’t want that to happen. One of the really great attributes of benzoyl peroxide is that the bacteria cannot become resistant to the treatment. Where there is oxygen, they will die. This is the “toxic” effect it has on the bacteria rather than a “true” antibiotic effect. Because of this the bacteria cannot develop resistance to it.It is also a great anti-inflammatory preparation which also helps to reduce swelling and redness associated with it. This is of course unless you are hypersensitive to the product. That is not the same as an allergy and I will discuss that in another article. Depending on the severity of your acne outbreak, it could take weeks or even a couple of months for improvement to occur so don’t give up! Just use the product as directed. Now, let me ask you a question. Do you really think you can eliminate your acne overnight buy some of the “miracle” products I see selling all over the net? Huh? Come on people. Don’t buy into that scam. Now that we have defined exactly what and how benzoyl peroxide works lets talk about the side effects just briefly. If you use a very high concentration of benzoyl peroxide you may experience very dry, red or scaly skin. This will also happen if you apply it way more often than is necessary. Now, if these type of symptoms become severe it may signal an allergic reaction to the product. Allergic reaction of this type will usually include some swelling and itching and most probably some tenderness of the affected area. If that should occur try using an over the counter hydro cortisone based cream. This usually works wonders in counteracting minor allergic reactions.Overall clinical studies have shown that less than one percent of the population actually shows any type of contact sensitization to benzoyl peroxide over time. It has been proven to be one of the most effective acne treatment there is and these tests have occurred over many decades. That doesn’t mean that you cannot be that one person who does experience some type of reaction. So, be aware of how the product is working for you. If you do experience swelling or severe crusting of your skin after using benzoyl peroxide discontinue it’s use and consult your physician. There are many other products you can try and something will work for you.Hope this answers your question on this topic. Stay tuned as my next post will deal more specifically on the long term effects of benzoyl peroxide. If you have suffered from acne for many years you need to be aware of the latest finding on long term use.
