			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p><strong>Baclofen</strong> is a muscle relaxant and antispastic. Its chemical  name is 4- amino-3- (4-chlorophenyl)- butanoic acid. The structural formula is  represented below:Baclofen is a white to off-white, odorless or practically odorless  crystalline powder, with a molecular weight of 213.66. It is slightly soluble in  water, very slightly soluble in methanol, and insoluble in chloroform.Baclofen tablets are available as 10-mg and 20-mg tablets for oral  administration.<br />
<strong>Kemstro’s (baclofen orally disintegrating tablets) inactive  ingredients:</strong> KEMSTRO is available as 10 mg and 20 mg orally  disintegrating tablets. Each orally disintegrating tablet also contains as  inactive ingredients: aspartame, colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone,  magnesium stearate, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, natural and artificial  orange flavor and povidone.<br />
<strong><em>Baclofen tablets:</em></strong> Cellulose compounds, magnesium  stearate, povidone, and starch.<br />
<strong><em>Baclofen injection:</em></strong> is a sterile, pyrogen-free,  isotonic solution free of antioxidants, preservatives or other potentially  neurotoxic additives indicated only for intrathecal administration. The drug is  stable in solution at 37° C and compatible with CSF. Each milliliter of baclofen  injection contains baclofen U.S.P. 500 mcg or 2000 mcg and sodium chloride 9 mg  in Water for Injection; pH range is 5-7. Each ampule is intended for SINGLE USE  ONLY. Discard any unused portion. <strong>DO NOT AUTOCLAVE.</strong></p>

This medicine is a muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasms  associated with multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injuries. It may also be used  to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.<br />
<strong>Before using</strong><br />
Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and  over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Do not start or stop any medicine  without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical  conditions including stroke, seizures, serious kidney problems, allergies,  pregnancy, or breast-feeding.<br />
<strong>Directions</strong><br />
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your  doctor. Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly-closed container,  away from heat and light. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon  as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and  go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.<br />
<strong>Cautions</strong><br />
Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without checking with  your doctor. Your doctor can tell you the best way to gradually reduce the  dosage. This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate  machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you  react to this medicine. This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and  other depressants. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which  medicines are depressants.<br />
<em>For women:</em> if you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss  with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy.  This medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding  while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to  discuss the risks to your baby.<br />
<strong>Possible side effects</strong><br />
Side effects, that may go away during treatment, include  drowsiness or difficulty sleeping, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, constipation, or  headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with  your doctor as soon as possible if you experience confusion, frequent urination,  vomiting, increased weakness of arms or legs, blurred vision, or slurred  speech.An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek  immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction  include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice  other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.<br />
<strong>If you take too much</strong><br />
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control  center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include vomiting,  muscle weakness, drowsiness, slow breathing, and seizures.<br />
<strong>Additional information</strong><br />
Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not  prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. Keep this  medicine out of the reach of children. If using this medicine for an extended  period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.<br />
<strong>Drug interactions</strong><br />
Drug interactions can result in unwanted side effects or  prevent a medicine from doing its job. Some medicines or medical conditions may  interact with this medicine. Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all  prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.</p>
